Korea Travel Card is a multipurpose transferable prepaid travel card jointly provided and sold by Korea National Tourism Organization, Shinhan Card and Shinhan Bank under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture & Tourism to allow a more convenient travel experience for tourists visiting Korea. Tourists visiting Korea can alleviate themselves from the inconvenience of having to exchange their currency and carry around Korean Won. With this one card, tourists can use the card like a credit card when shopping, or paying for accommodations, dining, or visiting Korean palaces and public facilities. The Korea Travel Card (KTC) is accepted in almost three million credit card member stores. KTC also allows tourists to enjoy the benefits of cheaper calls both domestic and international, free travelers insurance, preferential currency exchange rates, and additional discounts at special discount member stores, and much more.

(3) Free travelers insurance
- Applicants must purchase at least a 200,000 won travel card using Korean won in order to receive free
travelers insurance.
- Term of Insurance: The insurance is valid for a five-day period; the first day begins the day the card is
purchased.

4. How to Use Korea Travel Card
(1) Korea Travel Card Validity
- The card may not be used after the expiration date printed on the face of the card.
(2) Balance Check
- The sales ticket you receive after using the Korea Travel Card will show the balance of your card.
(3) Sales Cancellation
- If you wish to cancel your purchase, first the card company needs to receive the sales cancellation ticket
in order to restore your balance (it takes about 7-10 days)
- Even if you finish using the balance on your card, you need your card in order to collect the amount from
sales cancellation. Therefore, please keep the card in your possession until all balance matters are settled.
(4) Balance Refund
- You can get exchange your card balance for cash from Shinhan Bank only when you have used 80% or more
of the total amount of your card. You must have the card at hand when exchanging the card balance for cash.
(5) Card Exchange
- If your card is defective, visit Shinhan Bank branches for a new card. When exchanging your card, you need
to return the original card.
(6) Card Loss
- Korea Travel Card is a no-name-prepaid card; therefore in cases of card loss or card theft your card will not
berefunded or reissued. So, please be careful you do not misplace your card.
